Sitting Up: Big Boy

Ramsey was 5 months old on May 9th. He is sitting up now and he absolutely LOVES his jumperoo. Everytime I turn the video camera on to record him, however, the little stinker stops jumping....but he can really "go to town" inside it. He thinks he is sooooo big! We are very proud of our little man.

Mother's Day

Two of my girlfriends sent this link to me. My jaw dropped to the floor! You'll see why when you click on the link. Thank you Khourie and Julie....y'all are SO SWEET!!! That was neat.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Shaun and I were very busy on Saturday as we were helping to host my charity foundation's event in Wylie at the Woodbridge Golf Club. It was very successful and I think we raised around $16, 000 for our foundation and had 140 golfers play in the tournament. www.BKMfoundation.org Ramsey went to the golf tourney all day with us and was such a good baby. I was very proud of him. Shaun and I were able to snag a golf cart and go for a little ride around the course to check on players and Ramsey loved looking around at the scenery. He is definitley an outside baby.

On Sunday we joined my family in Dallas/Richardson for lunch and a little visit. Ramsey got to see his Grandaddy Hunter and Mama J. We didn't stay for long. We were all exhausted from Saturday's event, not to mention the flood of emotions our "big news" this week as brought as well. We came home and enjoyed a nice afternoon nap as a family. I received a gorgeous bouqet with 2 dozen red roses in it from Ramsey (His daddy is a wonderful man!) during the week and the card was absolutely precious. It was written as though Ramsey had wrote it himself. I cried...of course! I also received a nice bottle of perfume from "my boys" for mother's day. The best part of it all....was just holding on to Ramsey while we napped today (Sunday). There is nothing greater to me in this world than being a mom. I love it.....and it's a good thing I do....since I will be a mommy to TWO before long.

Update on Baby #2: I am not planning to go to the doctor until June 8th. By then I will be 11 weeks or so. If my calculations are correct, baby #2 will be due on January 6, 2010. Ramsey and his little sibling will be 13 months apart. Yes, Shaun and I are definitely overwhelmed....but very happy. It will be a rough road to tow at first....but our hopes are that they will be close siblings. We know Ramsey is going to be an awesome big brother, but it sure is hard to think of it in that light right now since he is only 5 months old himself. Everyone keeps asking us if we prefer a boy or a girl. Neither one of us really care.....as long as he/she is healthy. Of course, Shaun would love to have another boy. As he puts it....."TWO shots at the NFL draft".....oh....men! I will be equally excited no matter what the sex is. We've already started thinking of names and are still trying to wrap our head around preparing for another nursery, etc. My hormones are in a whirlwind right now as my body is again going through many changes, but I'm not feeling sick....yet. I'm just trying to get through the end of the year and enjoy the summer with Ramsey. Sadly, teacher's "summer break" isn't as long as it used to be. But I'm definitely looking forward to being with Ram and spoiling him rotten! :)

Teacher Appreciation Week

I had a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week. My students and their parents are very good to me and are so supportive of my role in the classroom. I am very blessed. I was showered with lots of gifts throughout the week including gift cards, lotions, flowers, snacks, and best of all sweet handmade cards by all of my students. I hung them on a clothesline at the entry-way of my door. Pictured are just two of the sweet cards but each one is a treasure. One of my students (Hannah pictured below) even made me a special heart cake. I absolutely LOVE the way she spelled my name. Her mom called me to let me know that Hannah worked very hard on "stretching out my name" as she has been taught to do as a beginning speller. Not bad for a 5 year old!!! The PTA hosted a special Luau luncheon for the teachers on Friday. Pictured with me is my Kindergarten Team. I received a very special bouquet of flowers from my Mom and Ramsey during the middle of the week. As you can see, it is a bouquet of beautiful multicolored daisies and freshly sharpened pencils sticking all around. Isn't that the cutest thing!!!!! On the card it said "To the best mommy and greatest teacher in the world. Love Ramsey and Momo".

April: A big growing month

April was a big growth month for me. I began to eat stage 2 baby foods and love the new tastes. I'm not too fond of green beans though! Yuck! My favorite foods so far are sweet potatos and corn & the apples peaches dessert. I'm drinking apple juice and water now, too. I am able sit up on my own for a couple of minutes now. Sometimes I get excited and tip over but most of the time I can hold my weight pretty well. I still lean forward a bit but I love this sitting thing. I'm working on my crawling moves and can almost roll over. It won't be long until my Mommy and Daddy are going to have to chase me everywhere. I can't wait for that! I'm taking baths in my big duck now. I love it! When Mommy squeezes the beak, the duck quacks. I got to visit my friends Kelli and her baby girl Ana. Ana is a couple of months older than me. I also got to see my Auntie Khourie and her 3 girls: Kacee, Kai, and Khloe. Khloe has changed a lot since I saw her in the hospital. She looks just like her daddy, RJ....and she is definitely a "daddy's girl". My Aunt Ashley came over a lot during the month of April and I always love my time with her. She helped Mommy give me a bath and read me some books. My Momo has been taking such great care of me while my Mommy is at work. Momo and I have a lot of fun together during the day. She's always teaching me new things. My Mommy is really happy she's keeping me. Mommy is ready for the summer. She keeps counting down the days until she can be home with me. She STILL has a hard time leaving me on Monday mornings. Thank goodness she and Momo text throughout the day! My Daddy and I are spending more play time together. Daddy loves to tickle me and roll around with me on the bed. He likes to watch cartoons with me, too (actually, I think my Daddy likes the cartoons more than me...but that's ok...shhh! Don't tell anyone!). May is going to be a very busy month for us. Mommy and Daddy have something going on every weekend in May so I'm sure they'll be lots of pictures coming up again soon. Thanks for checking up on me. As you can see, I'm doing really well. I'm a happy kid and I love to babble and squeal. I can really get some crazy noises going! Until next time... Love to all. -Ramsey Dane
